Blog 11 - Emulation project
why did you choose these images? I choose this image because its similar to my kaupapa and the contrast of the colours
How have you emulated your artist? I choose Rinko to emulate because she has soft photos and great contrast of the colour and the edit of the photos
I choose Rinko Kawauchi as my photographer's inspiration

Blog post 9
Blog post nine: Looking at daguerreotypes and faking a darkroom - analogue practices in a digital world.
Reflect -
why would this be useful in your work? It could be useful by trying to add edited photos to the panels
What mood or feeling does this kind of editing create? It gives the feel of a dark vintage and old type of photo.
How can you develop from here? To make this try to match my theme and just make it soft

Forest
ORIGINAL
Forest.edit1
used: Levels and Curves
Forest.edit2
used: Levels, Curves and Photo filter ( 40 )
Forest.edit3
used: Levels, Curves and Hue/Saturation.
Critique and analyse with your peers what looks best:
The first image is definitely the best looking among the bunch. Compared to edit number 2, the white balance is on point.
Compare to the original and make notes:
Comparing the original photo to these 2 edits makes it different and for the 3 it looks washed out by white and less colour to pop out.
Nature
Nature.edit1
used: Levels and Curves
Nature.edit2
used: Levels, Curves and Photo filter
Nature.edit3
used: Levels, Curves and Hue/Saturation.
Critique and analyse with your peers what looks best:
The first photo is the best-looking edited photo. This is because the image has more contrast and details of the trees and the river in the photo. Compared to the two photos, the first one also has a balance in both highlights and shadows.
Compare to the original and make notes.
The original photo is just like photo 1 but without the edit. The edit makes it stand out.
Duck

Duck.edit2
used: Levels, Curves and Photo filter
Duck.edit3
used: Levels, Curves and Hue/Saturation.
Critique and analyse with your peers what looks best:
The first edit is also the best in these photographs. It has the most contrast and the most balanced among the two images. The last image looks too washed out.
Compare to the original and make notes.
The original photo is just basic but when I edit them it makes it stand out more.

On that day I didn't reach 100 photos but I added some photos when I took home the camera and started to take more photos as I am planning to create different kinds of shots.
L3 Art Matrix
Brainstorm
- Environment
- Lighting
- Focus ( Main subject )
- Location place
The theme I chose is the location-place, sense of place because of what artist I chose and what they took. Also, the compositions of the lighting were made by 3 different photographers and by the 3 photographers have different focuses or the main subject to take a photo.
